Mala and Genre?
« on: November 13, 2006, 06:57:03 pm »
I have a stupid Mala question. I want to display my games by genre (eg all the shooting games in a shooting "folder" etc....) So when Mala starts, you just see all the genres, then you select the genre, and it displays all the games in that genre. It this possible? I tried sort by genre, and it does sort the games, but leaves them in one big list. Any ideas?

Thanks!

_Dave

 ;)
You need to make you game lists using 'MaLaGameList.exe' then create your menu in the way you want using 'MaLaTree.exe'

I never used MalaTree ..... what I did to create gamelists was the following:

1) Right click on the mouse and enter the Options menu

2) Select "Game Lists" TAB

3) Click "New" button and create a new gamelist name (ex: SHOOTERS).

4) Now click the "Edit Game List" button.  This will bring up the MalaGamelist.exe application automatically.

5)  Select the "Gamelist\Add Selection" menu option.  This will result in a window being displayed which will allow you to select Genre (and other similiar things)

6) Select the Genre you wish to add and then click "Add" button.   This will add all of the games into your list which match the genre you selected.

7) (repeat steps 5 and 6 to add more games to the same gamelist)

8 ) When finished adding all your games, then select the "File/Save" menu option and make sure you save the file under the correct MLG gamelist name (ex: SHOOTERS.MLG)

9) Close the MalaGamelist.exe application and your done.

Don't think so. Others use it, but not me... although I had a play with it once and it seemed to be pretty intuitive.  IF you get stuck I'm sure others will help
