FS: 27" Hitachi arcade monitor (Houston)
« on: November 11, 2006, 08:49:23 pm »
Looking to part with the 27" standard res Hitachi arcade monitor originally installed in my Super Neo 29 candy cab.  Monitor works great, colors are good and picture is clear and sharp.  Very minor pincushion on the sides, not visible when monitor is adjusted out - would likely be remedied by a cap kit for a perfectionist.  Pics attached.  Would like to get $150 for the monitor.  Local pickup strongly preferred - I do have a proper box that fits it (box my Betson monitor was shipped in), but shipping would likely be pricey.

I'd have to get an estimate, but yeah, I'd imagine that's probably not far off from the cost of shipping to San Jose CA...   ;)

I meant, I'll give you 150.00 shipped to San Jose CA

People usually charge around 65.00 to ship those monitors.  UPS shipping.

People usually charge around 65.00 to ship those monitors.  UPS shipping.

I think the $65 you're used to seeing is for 19" monitors...  I seem to recall paying ~$90 to have the Betson shipped from Dallas by truck.  Box being oversize and heavy, UPS shipping calculator is giving me $126 to ship from Pasadena, TX to San Jose, CA based on a 75lb estimate and approximate dimensions of 30x30x30" for the box, which should be pretty close to accurate, if not a bit on the conservative side (Betson lists the weight of their 27" as 83lb).

That said, even if shipping were $65, I think I'd be inclined to try my luck at a local sale on eBay or just hang onto the thing if I were going to have to hassle with shipping and only get $85 for the monitor in doing so.  Appreciate the interest, though.

Alan - not a problem.  Wish I had a 25" for you.

EyeDoc - no immediate plans for a trip to Dallas.  Was thinking at one point I might try to make the December SuperAuction in Mesquite, but in all likelyhood Christmas shopping with kill any chances of that.

Unfortunately no...  You missed it by less than a week.  Had been trying to sell/trade it so long I ended up posting it to RGVAM and letting it go cheap just go get it out of my game room closet so the vacuum and Christmas decorations would have a home.

Sorry!  :-\
