I made Han's keyboard splitter and i was not sure which IC chip to use. i ordered this one
http://www.mouser.com/index.cfm?handler=displayproduct&&lstdispproductid=545814
i think it will work but i am not sure. i also am using the 6 pin (smaller) keyboard plug. i got the wiring off of his site. i just wasnt sure if i only needed to use 4 of the 6 pins. anybody built this splitter in the past? any suggestions?
thanks for your time,

The chip should work ok, I built this circuit a couple of years ago , I used Radio $hack parts he doesn't give a lot of detail for the IC but it is cmos and should work.
as for the connector you should be using only 4 of the 6 pins on the ps2 connecter.
The circuit I built was for the standard AT keyboard not the ps2. but you still only use 4 of the pins. Make use you know which pins are which the pinouts are different for the two types pf keyboard plugs.
for example pin 4 on the AT style 5 pin plug is Ground
pin 4 on the ps2 plug is +5v
the pins on these plugs are not numbered sequentialy
make sure you know which pin is which.
good luck
