Nice work. You should go ahead and post it in Project Announcements anyway once you can post in the rest of the board.

NO LAPTOP, SFF PC.  intel celron 800 512 dvd
15 INCH LCD(DELL) I was not using.

I actually mounted the pc on the back door.removed from the case.

I had a 500 regular mb and powersupply but it wasnt quite fast enough running windows.
It is what I am using in a dos arcadeos cab there the 500 was ok.

mounted a usb wireles card there as well.

not sure about side art, not much room but eventually a new cp flush with art and maby a bezel.

I am pretty good with my hands, but the whole art thing i need alot of work with, it does seem to need something.......

controls are via a minipac and ultimarc trackball and jstick i believe.

mamewah, playstation emulator, mame 61 and just started setting up stepmania.

I'm in the same boat, good with woodwork but artwork is a whole different story.

:applaud: You've got a nice looking slim bartop.  Yes it is missing artwork but that is quite often the last thing to be done.  You have a nice simple marquee that is a good place to start.  Think of a theme and hopefully when the boards get fixed you can post a request in the artwork section for some help.

Be sure and post a new thread in the Projects forum when you can.  With more pics of that control panel and the guts.

Is that a J-stick (sanwa stick)?

Looks very cool, I want one.

Plans, well, I loosly designed it like the mameroom designs one, but after I had it on my counter, I relized i didnt need the depth, with the lcd, so i actually took it apart and cut it.

I can take any measurments you need, but it mostly just went togeather a few times and I made a few modifications where I needed to.
although not too many were necessary, thats the beauty, I can just say I ment to make it like that.

I am really disapointed with myself for not takeing too may pics as I was building, I will definatly do that next time.

Timoe, yes it is a Sanwa, I had 2 laying around for a few years, and I actually tried to use a t stick, but my daghter much prefered the jstick, I do as well.

i will get some pics of the cp and guts, its kinda a mess in there, but it all works.

I do have to add that I thought the tmolding was harder to install then I thought, and that inside corner was a pain.

Here are a few pics I just snapped.

shot of the cp.

guts

sound on the right, not as nice as an external control, but I didnt want to get cute with this my first scratch cabinet.

notice the L brackets holding in the monitor it is routed out so it sits in the hole it wasnt easy bit I think it looks nice on the finished side, and the monitor does not move.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and questions.

Ahh...

My bartop I'm currently building in PA looks similar to this. Eerily similar! I went with a few more curves, and I don't plan on trackball. I'm building mine to play like a Multi-williams. Looks good! Good work.

Is that Velcro you are using to attach the CP?  :laugh2: :applaud: Neet idea I just might use that for the modular panels on my FrankenMAME cabinet.  It would sure fix the problems I am having with panels being loose and poorly drilled holes for the dowels to fit into. ;D

Where in PA, I am also in pa... Fleetwood.

This is my first cp with a trackball, I really should have flush mounted it and put artwork on it, (might still) with the samll ball I dont think plexi would work too well. But a mouse in windows is great.

I was going to make this a dos box, but the minipac and ultimarc trackball all just plugged in it was just too easy. I did have to work at getting it to work well in the games, and it is now a little slow in windows, but better than going the wrong way(backspin ) I had at first.

Yes, industrial strength velcro, seems to hold fine.

Problem I now have is I had everything fitting so good, after I put on the tmolding, it kinda makes it harder to take off the cp,

 but not too bad. :banghead:

Eric,  :notworthy:

Thank you for the idea for the Velcro.  I tore apart my CP last night and turned my rails on their sides so there was more room to attach the Velcro.  I stapled the hook side to the rails and just stuck the loop side on the modules.  They fit much nicer but there is still some slop as they don't fit perfectly.  Before I hijack your thread I'll just say that I will put more information on my thread as soon as I can get my camera away from the wife.
