so i have a j-pac..now what??

hey guys i just got a jpac an wanna know how do i hook this badboy up??

the reason why i ask this is because i checked the site and it says it needs to be grounded....how the hell do i do that??

i know nothing about electronics whats a ground and what does it do and how do i make one??

my uncle told me to take a metal screw" and screw it into the wood then hook up the jpac is this true or is he talking out his you know what..??

please help i dont wanna screw up this expensive piece of hardware!

Your uncle is only half right. Is there a spot on the J-Pac where it recommends you ground from? The ground lead needs to be run to a spot on the machine where the ground has already been run. Do you have any pictures of the inside of the machine. It would be easier to show than to explain. It's very simple, though.

ok...i found the ground wire from my jamma psu....i think i have to attach one of the grounds to the ground point on the j-pac...is this true or will it fry the sucker?

No, that's what you want. That same ground wire should lead to things like the monitor frame and the marquee ballast. That's what you want to be tapping into.

There is no real need to do any of this.
Just plug in the J-PAC (The correct way round!!!) into the JAMMA connector, connect it to the PC via the VGA and the USB (or PS/2) port.

In the instructions there are some checks mentioned which are an attempt to confirm that everything is properly grounded but it should not involve connecting wires etc.
