How to take apart HAPP Topfire

I've been searching without any luck.  Can someone describe how to take apart the HAPP Topfire joystick?  I don't want to break this thing.  It was delivered to be alreaady put together.  It looks just like a Super.  Can't figure out how to take the handle off the base without completely unscrewing everything.

there is a little black disc thingy that pops into the bottom of the joystick shaft.  The "black disc thingy" is actually the thing that pushes the lever for the switch.

move the switch out of the way and pop off that black disc, it pops back on.

So just pull on that black disk with some force?  It'll pop off?  My luck is I always end up breaking something.

That black disc does not pop off.  I'm going to break it with the amount of force I'm using.

Ok.....I decided to go for it.  At first I was trying to pop the disc off by pulling on it.  No luck.  Then I tried to use a screwdriver to pry it off.  No luck.  Then I tried pull on the disc from the bottom with all my might.  Ended up pulling the black disc and black bar away from the button but it still didn't come apart.  Finally I just said screw it and pulled the handle from the top (the bat handle).  Pulling with all your might will pop the disc off from the botton and then the handle will come part. 

Let's just hope I didn't break anything and I can get this thing back together.

my direction was accurate and correct.  Pull the black disc and it will pop off the pin inside the shaft.  It will also pop back on as previously recommended.
