JAMMA Fingerboard Q...
« on: March 26, 2003, 05:08:23 am »
Hi all,

I have a cabinet that currently runs Tekken Tag (JAMMA Plus).

My J-PAC and ArcadeVGA is on the way...

I was wondering if I am able to get a fingerboard for the Plus side connector harness (48 pin AFAIK).  This will allow me to wire the extra buttons to the J-PAC, so I can then change between my "Tekken Tag PCB" or "PC/A-VGA/J-PAC/Fingerboard" with ease.

I have another solution if I cant source such a thing, but if anyone knows where I can, or an alternative solution you may know of, please let me know/help me out.

Thanks in advance.

Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this, but by default you should have 3 buttons and 2 joys available by swapping the JAMMA connector from the Tekken Tag board to the J-Pac.. to have the 4th and 5th player buttons available, though, you'll actually have to also get an I-Pac (or hack something) to route them through.. but taking that into consideration, it should be easy to deduce the pinout of the molex connector attached to the 4th & 5th buttons and make your own harness that you can leave screwed to the I-Pac.

If the quickdisconnects are hardwired to your Plus harness (ie: there are no molex connectors between the quickdisconnects and the inline header that attaches to your PCB), you'll have to cut it and put in the connector of your choice (probably 5 pin molex connectors would be best).

The J-PAC actually supports the extra buttons (4,5,6) via screw in terminals, so no need for i-pac.

hmmm... maybe I should just change the edge connector with a standard jamma 56-pin one.... and just use a standard jamma fingerboard...
