MALA questions (game lists and layout editor)

I've been toying with using MALA instead of MAMEwah now for a little bit...

However, it's taken quite a while to set up my game lists in MAMEwah...can these lists be imported into MALA?  Or, does anyone have pre-made lists?

Is there any docs on the layout editor??  I'm trying to figure out the animation/custom objects and what exactly they do, because I cannot seem to get any effect from them...

ANY help??
