Which is the best kb encoder?
« on: March 26, 2003, 12:12:19 am »
Hello all,

I've  been having major problems with my IPAC4, so I've been thinking of replacing it.  I've heard a lot about the hagstrom(sp) line of gear and they seemed to be the better of the bunch however albiet more expansive.   I'd like to know what  you used to connected your controls to your pc's.  Any assistance is vastly appreciated.

Thanks
Evo

My problems are 3rd and 4th players sometimes work... sometimes don't.  I tried to program it, but I get the message that I need to adjust the download speed.  I've adjusted it and it hasn't changed anything.  I've even used the slowest possible settings.   If I attempt to autodetect the ipac, it actually says its an IPAC2.  If I try to program it on ipac2 it works.   But not on IPAC4.   I've tried hooking it to usb and ps2.  I've only been using it 2 weeks but I ordered it 4 months ago when I first started to plan out my cabinet.

No I haven't emailed Andy for help.

Andy is GREAT at tech support.  Give him a quick email.

After I blew up my opti-pac (plugged positive 5volts to ground and vis-versa... btw, NEVER plug it in until you have really figured out where you got your power from : ))

He sent me a replacement chip and some resisters for FREE!

IE, hes GREAT!

But also consider the MK64!  Great card!  That is the only one I have personal experience with and again, its a WINNER!
