VS Excitebike for $150?
« on: November 03, 2006, 06:02:26 pm »
I have an opportunity to pick up a VS Excitebike in working order,  decent condition,  for $150.  Good deal?   I want to make a vertical MAME cabinet,   is VS Excitebike JAMMA compatible?   Being the cabinet it the same (similar) to Donkey Kong, etc,  I imagine I can flip the monitor?

Not sure about this....

Sound like a good deal to me.  But vs is not jamma compatable.  You could wire it for jamma and use and adaptor for your vs boards.  Nintendo classics use a different adaptor.

But it starts to get expensive.

Hmmm...

The guy has 7 arcade cabinets.  One is Battlezone...which is a definate NO GO (first off,  I wouldn't convert a BZ cabinet out of respect,  second,  it's vector monitor wouldn't do me any good anyway).   The other 6 are VS Excitebike, Heavy Barrel, Arkinoid, Kageki, 1942 and Victory Road.

They are in various stages of condition.   I am going to go check them out next weekend (he is out of town this weekend)...

At least 5 of those last 6 are probably all "conversions".
NO MORE!!
