Yahooo! Ok just for the record, I am using 2 GPWiz's and 1 LEDWiz. I am using 2 49 way joys too.
Ok, I downloaded it and have wiped my D drive clean for a fresh install of the new FE and all ROMs, Snaps etc.
I installed everything and used the basic arcades PNP.
I engaged the GPWiz and tried to start the FE. The FE starts and I see the Arcades simple and Laserdisk, but I do not have any control over the FE. I used a keyboard to esc. out of the FE. I went into the key manager and nothig worked there with my GPWiz either. What have I missed. I looked in the docs, but there is not any information.

EDIT:(BTW, I tried to go to the AFE suport site but it did not seem to be there today.)

Hi MYX,

First, yes , it seems that the AFE support site have problem since saturday. The webmaster contacted the provider they are working on that troubles. I hope the forums will be back soon.

Concerning GPWiz and LEDWiz support.  Plug'n play modules have been done before i implement that features and are not configured to support GPWIZ and LEDWiz "out of the box".  And anyway, as only few user have that hardware i don't want enable the support for plugnplay modules by default.

If you want enable the GPWiz support for modules, you have for EACH cfg files you use :

To open the .Cfg file with AtomicManager
Check the "LED-Wiz / GP49-Wiz" checkbox
Go on the GP-49 WIz Tab
Check "GP49-Wiz enabled" checkbox
Choose a Front End mode : for instance 3   (which is the 8 way mode for HAPP/MIDWAY  choose 13 if you have a williams type joystick)
Save and close.

In your case, as you are using Plugnplay modules :  Arcade Simple and Lazer Disc
you have to do that for :
<atomicfe>\PlugnPlay\Plugnplay.cfg file
<atomicfe>\PlugnPlay\Arcade Simple\Arcades.cfg  file
<atomicfe>\PlugnPlay\daphne\daphne.cfg file

That's part is for the Front End.  Now you can configure for each game what mode you want.
you can do that Automatically  from the LEDWIZManager.exe  (that manages the GP49-Wiz too)

Open LedWizManager
Point to your mame.exe
Go on GP49-Wiz Game Settings tab
Choose your joystick type  (HAPP/ MIDWAY or Williams)
Click on generate GP49 settings
Quit.

And run Atomic.  It should work.

A new complete  documentation for ATomicFE  (in real english!) should come soon.  ;)

Youki, I am just happy that you are writing for the GPWiz49. The English translation is lower priority than the software. Your work IS appreciated.

I did generate the generate gp49 settings thing last night. This did not work. But I did not enable it in the FE in the manner that you suggested. I will try this morning and get back to you.

BTW, how do I tell the FE that my player 1 button is ## number on the GPWiz. So that I can start games or move between emulators or escape?

On weak point of Atomic is the "PC joystick" support. I just introduced a very basic support for PC Joystick support.

When i started Atomic, it was just to be used with Arcade Cabinet joystick linked to a JPAC or IPAC or other keyboard encoders that acts like a Keyboard. (Cabinet Joystick action are transformed in keyboard event).

Then some users asked me to control Atomic with joystick. I implemented quickly a very basic support.
UP / Down browse the list
LEFT / Right  Page jump on the list
Button 1  : run game / Select an emulator   (PLAYER 1 START)
Button 2 : Back to previous screen.    (PLAYER  2 START)
button 3 :  Remove game from favorute list (PLAYER 1 BUTTON 2)
button 4 :  Add Game to favorite list (if enabled) (PLAYER 1 BUTTON 1)

And i just realise no way to exit Atomic with the "PC" joystick only.

And it is not customizable.

Therefore, if you want fully use Atomic with "PC" Joystick you can with the help with a tool called Joy2Keys (that convert joystick input to Keyboard Input).

The native "PC" Joystick support is limited only in the FE itself, not in emulators.  Emulators having their own joystick configuration.

Anyway, a real joystick support is on my todo list with a high priority. So i guess this kind of limitation will disepear soon.

Understood. I went towards the 49 way because it feels much like the leaf type joys. Plus it had all these cool configurations because of the digital restrictor. I thought that it would be a plug and play type of thing, but it has not turned out to be this way. I have been nearly finished with my cab for almost two months with limited ablility. (Kinda sad). I can play powermame32, but it is a windows FE not the cool stuff like AFE offers. I know that the base function is to be able to play games, and it does, but I think there is an underlying theme that it has to look cool too.  ;D

Anyway, a real joystick support is on my todo list with a high priority. So i guess this kind of limitation will disepear soon.

This is great news. I will watch with anticipation.

Yay Havok. Hey any chance you could let me pre read the engrish version. Yeah, it could be like a beta test.yeah, that's it... a beta test. I have made my way through the instructions as much as possible but my French skills are not at all in a position to be trouble shooting technical things. I am actually impressed with youki's ability to write to us all as much as he does.
