Good Deal on a Q*Bert project?

I'm about to embark on my first restoration project.  How does this deal sound to you guys?

One Q*Bert cabinet with a lot of water damage, complete board set, knocker that at least goes 'ka-thunk' on power up, a decent control panel, glass, bezel, marquee, etc.
A seccond Q*Bert cabinet in good shape that was converted to a Neo game, with monitor, no pcbs, etc.
A full set of side art, kick panel art, and control panel art reproductions.
Dollar amount with local pickup for all of these items would be $350.

Is this a project that I should jump into for my first?  I love Q*Bert, but just need some outside opinions on the value of such a project.  Plus, it helps to justify it with my wife if someone else says it is a good idea.

From what your saying...

it sounds like there is 1 good cabinet with no boards and 1 bad cabinet with a full set of boards. I presume the boards are working on the full set.

Sounds like a decent deal to me, but I'm imagining it to be in really good shape and I'm presuming your a big qbert fan.

You are correct about the boards.  The power supply is the only item known to be questionable.  Really good shape...hmmm, not really.  There was red paint painted over the good cabinet which would have to be removed then repainted, but there are brand new art reproductions included in the deal.

I like Q*Bert, but wanted to see if this was a good deal dollar-wise.  I'm pretty much the neophyte in that area.

It's not that great of a deal.  $350 for a working Qbert would be reasonable.  It's not that bad though either if there aren't any hidden costs and you don't mind doing all the work.

The art alone is worth nearly half of the asking price. I would try to talk them down to 300 or do a meet halfway on delivery/pickup. You may be able to sell the neo conversion CP or spare monitor and make a few bucks back that way too.
