I basically want a 50pin female to 50pin female ribbon cable that will fit into a Compact Flash / Micro-Drive slot. Kind of like an IDE cable, but for the CF-I or CF-II standards. I know I can't be the only person who thought to himself "Man I would like easier access to this Compact flash adapter." The first person who finds me a site that I can buy the cable off of I will PayPal or MoneyOrder 20 bucks.
I've searched Google, Allelectronics, Digikey, etc and still nothing. At this point I'm not even sure they make such a thing.  :banghead:

Rules on bounty;
I don't want a Developer Compact Flash Extender (like with a PCB board) as they are generally "bulky", won't work with my project and are ridiculously expensive.
I don't want anything that is like 100 dollars, just a cheap ribbon "IDE like" cable.

Thanks,
FTen

You mean like this? <---- link

If so, you can keep the $20.

Oops, you said 50 pin.  These are the cables I used for my compact flash adapters, they are for 2.5" laptop connections.  Maybe the same site will still have what you're looking for.

What does this look like?  Can you use regular 50 pin scsi Cables?

Well I want the cable to connect directly into a male CF port, so a SCSI cable wouldn't work.
I've actually de-solder a compact flash card and started re-soldering the CF female connector to a standard 80pin  IDE cable, but the leads on the connector are so small and fragile it's a ---smurfette--- to do.  If I can't find a cable I guess I'll just finish solder that, but the cable will wind up being pretty fragile.

I looked over that site Witchboard, doesn't have what I need. Thanks for the link though.

I'm planning on using the cable with my Nintendo DS.

Thank you,
-FTen.

i have been looking and the best bet is to get 1 compact flash conector , a ribbon cable and a female compact flash connetor. solder it together. seems simple enough. can you tell us why this weird req . so we can find best solution?

gloop stick the ends to make this less fragile

I was planing on using it with a PCB board I made to do a Compact Flash to Toshiba 1.8" HD conversion. The board itself will use a male CF connector.
Spaz Monkey: I think that link is to a proprietary 50pin cable, I'm looking for something that would directly plug into a male 50pin CF port.

Think this but with out all the extra crap;

Worse comes to worse, I'll just make the cable myself.
Thanks
