Tempest cabinet help
« on: October 19, 2006, 12:19:43 pm »
Hi gang,

I was wondering if anyone with a tempest cabinet could help me out with some measurements not on jakobuds drawings.

Here is what I need, see matching nubmers in pic.

1) The top panel looks to be on a downward angle, what is the measurement from the top of the cab to the top of the top panel in the  back

2, 3 and 4) what is the height of these panels?

and last and not on the pic,

What holds the glass in on the top?

Thanks

John

Here's what I have:

1 - 8 & 1/4th inches
2 - 4 & 3/4th inches
3 - 8 & 3/8ths inches
4 - 39 & 3/4ths inches

Now, I should say that the panel for #2 can be unscrewed and the length of the panel *itself* is 4.75 inches. However, there is wood above and below it. If we want to go to the very last molecule of that piece straight up until there is no more wood it would be 6 & 3/8ths. If that doesn't make any sense I can take pictures of it and describe it better.

As for the glass -- there is a piece of metal at (almost?) a right angle holding it place. One side is over the glass and the other has three hex screws that screw it down to something. Not having a hex screwdriver, I can't tell what is in there. I can take a picture of this as well if that would help.

If you need hi-res pictures of anything just let me know. I can take them and put them in a zip file for you.
