Will This Mobo fit into this case?
« on: October 17, 2006, 04:12:40 pm »
Just ordered a case:

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16811147006

And plan on using this motherboard:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131572

Says the case will fit up to 11" X 12"

Well the mobo is 12" x 7"

Will it fit?

Does it work?  How much was free shipping?  I'm pretty sure it'll fit in your basement, but make sure you ask for a noise code.  Also, does it work?

I don't get the question.  You have the measurements right there.

I don't think I'm ready for this crazy advanced math. I keep coming up with eleventy by eleventy.

Nope, it will only fit upside down.

You know, I hear best buy has some purdy nice compooders that come already made up.

To answer your question - those dimensions are interchangeable.. 12x7 = 7x12

It may fit but that doesn't mean it has screw holes and such that line up perfectly.

Why did you ask after ordering it?

I'd like to be the first to suggest Gorilla Glue & C-clamps.

Won't work.  The drill is 9" x 4".  You can't possibly fit that in with the mobo.

I realized my mistake only after I ordered the case. I didn't realize the case was micro atx in relation to the atx mobo. I'm new at this. Cut me some slack guys.

Dont worry, it will fit just fine.  12" wide is the important dimension.  And since the mobo is atx as is the case, you're 99% likely to have no issues with mounting posts, standoffs etc being in the correct place.  That is an ATX midtower case, not mATX

Don't use Towers.  They're too loud and sometimes completely inappropriate.

Good point....I was a bit too helpful there:

To ensure that the mobo fits, follow these important steps -

1) collect underpants
