TMNT control panel layout template and keywiz 4 player "how to"
« on: October 17, 2006, 08:35:09 am »
Hello from Maine,

Attached is the control panel layout for TMNT 4 player, 1 square = 1 inch. This can be used on the Simpsons, TMNT, Bucky O'Hare, and probably more. I built the Bucky O'Hare and am using the attached layout and the following KeyWiz formula.

I have figured out how to use a 32 input keywiz for 4 players :

stick 1 uses 4 inputs + 3 buttons
stick 2 uses 4 inputs + 3 buttons
stick 3 uses 4 inputs + 3 buttons
stick 4 uess 4 inputs + 3 buttons

= 28 inputs +

enter, esc, tab, coin = 32 inputs total :)

note : player's 2nd button must double as that player's "start" (in MAME's input configuration)

note : "coin" button must quadrupel as "p1 p2 p3 p4 coin" (in MAME's input configuration)

Cheers,
Craig

*sigh*

JakoBud's plan does not include the control panel layout, see the attachment

It looks similar to this but the two center sticks on the simpsons are closer to the front.

I am not sure if these measurements would help you out or not.

Thank you very much, they would do much better than what I have right now!

If I can't track down Simpsons measurements I could alter these

Also, after you submit them I will put them in the "CP layout repository" (I don't know if one exists, but if it doesn't I will open one)

Cheers :)

Well mine currently looks like this:

But the original NBA Jam holes are still under it. I will work on it tomorrow It will be a little tough to get a really accurate measurement with all the controls still in it, but I will get it as close as I can.

Any time my friend, Your CD has helped me a bunch.

Was the Konami cab for TMNT the same button size/layout as The Simpsons?  If so, then this should help:
http://www.classicarcadegrafix.com/sunshop/index.php/action/item/id/45/prevaction/category/previd/1/prevstart/0/
Once resized you can get a better idea of joy/button placement...except you're adding third buttons.  All the The Simpsons I played on had only two buttons per player and required simultaneous button presses for the combos...

Hooray!

Thank you :)

That will work fine. Actually I was planning on using 3 buttons anyway. I guess I should stop calling it a Simpsons and start calling it a TMNT

Cheers,
Craig
