Arcade Outhouse??
« on: October 12, 2006, 12:27:13 pm »
Ok, I've been pretty quiet recently.  I'm building two small cottages at some land I bought last year and has been taking up all my extra time.

They are both very small (10x10) with a lot of huge windows and a breezeway between them... Reason... I couldn't get a permit for one any larger without power / sewage and now my kids will be in another building then my wife and I... that should be nice.

Anyway... my wife is asking about possibly putting in an outhouse in some form.  I started thinking after reading another thread about possibly using an old dead cab, or building my own like in the shape of a cab.

I'm trying to come up with a good seat.  What cab style would be the best?  (thinking gauntlet)... Any comments?

That would make for a pretty small outhouse. I do agree that Ultracade would be the logical choice. While you're at you might want to file for a trademark on poo.

Would you sit inside the cab or on it's control panel? Think of the poor children who will see your arcade cabinet from a distance only to find out it's filled with ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- when they try to play.

Agreed.

Again, agreed.

Like someone hinted, use a control panel for the seat. Just take the joys out first. You are better off making something that looks like a cab but with increased dimensions, a regular size cab will be hard to get inside of - I've tried.

Perhaps a Dig-Dung theme? Or Double Dookie?

Now, let's not derail this perfectly fine thread with inappropriate theme suggestions...   ;D

Very Funny posts!

But,

I would think a regular MDF cabinet would not last too long in the elements.

Probably not with the POO or GOLDEN SHOWERS either?

Funny thing... the wood might be the issue on making it.

I was thinking gauntlet style cab with a fake control panel and fake screen.  You would open them and sit inside with them opened up.  Then the front, you would swing the whole front/coin door area open and there would be a seat inside...

btw, it should be moveable... so I can dig a new hole, and start over 'fresh'... :)

I can't think of a model that would be appropriate for sitting completely inside... but my wife doesn't like traditional out houses because of the bugs... But she thinks this might do.  (amazingly she thinks its a good idea)...

But I put the floors for both cabins this weekend.  I ahve to move the walls out and so in about 2 weeks to a month I should be ready to start...

Love the name ideas.  I'm also kinda curious if I could find a way to get side art to stick... but I need new sideart on my main cab before I make one for the crapper cab

My vote would be for a sit down Turbo cabinet.  Gives you a little bit of privacy.

Plus it has the dedicated LEDs for the "High Score"!!   :laugh2:

LOL...

but I think doors are kinda important...

and if I build a sit down driving cab... I'm building a sit down driving cab for a PC.   I had a one, and was going to put a dreamcast in it... and one thing led to another... and I gave it up....

regretted it every moment... I don't want to regret sitting in a sitdown cabinet to have a movement...

What about the overall stench? After a few uses you are going to fully aware that you are sitting on a growing pile of feces. A board underneath your seat thats fitted in a slot that you can slide over the hole to keep the flies away might be good, but you know someone is going to forget to pull the board forward before doing the business and make a mess.

O yeah, and one more idea - Outrun!
