Arcades in L.A.?

Not in LA, but you can find one still on the pier in Redondo Beach. Just roll down PCH and turn right at Torrance Blvd, park in the structure and it's on the bottom level right there. Closed on Tues.

I used to ride my skateboard to that arcade when I was a kid.

There has got to be a Dave & Busters somewhere near LA.  Or you could go the easy route and pop out a few kids so you can go to Chukkee Cheese's.

Glad the Redondo Pier arcade is still there...! Probably been 10 years since I was last there...

There is a bowling place at Universal CityWalk that is supposed to have a decent arcade- Jillians HiLife Lanes. I haven't been there - too many tourists...

That's a really good arcade. I was there a couple years ago (at least I think that was the arcade) and they had some really cool vintage coin-op stuff.

I don't know about the City Walk, but there's a GameWorks in the actual park. I've never bothered to go in though, since I'm only on the lower level to ride Jurassic and Mummy. It seems like it would have to be really small to fit in there.

Edit: Speaking of parks, Disneyland has an OK arcade. The Tommorowland one (forget what it's called) has some decent modern games.

I was out at the Redondo one last month (I live in Torrance). It's still there and running, but it's so slow now (time of year I guess) that it makes me wonder how they stay in business. Places like that are seriously few and far between now, thank goodness for MAME, my daughter would probably grow up not knowing WTF I was talking about otherwise.

When I was living in Santa Monica (7 months ago) the arcade at the SM Pier was totally open for business...

I also remember an arcade at little Tokyo in one of the tall buildings, mostly specialty control games with turntables and guitars and candy cabs

There was a good arcade at UCLA.  I haven't been there in years and there was an newspaper article last May that it might be closed because it wasn't making enough money.  Another arcade that I haven't been to in years was Palace Park in Irvine.  They also have a go-kart track.  Although, I think they were bought out by Boomers.

There are a bunch of Arcades in LA.

In downtown, There is JAPAN ARCADE in the Mitswua Plaza on 3rd and Alameda, I play there almost everyday on my lunch break.

There is a really big No-name arcade on Spring st in between 8th and 7th street. All sorts of racing/shooting/sports games really retro feel.

There is Shatto Lanes in K-town. 3255 W 4th St.

I have a full list, I used to be a an arcade rat back in the day.

I ran into an arcade in the Eagle Rock Plaza this weekend. Other than the Target, this plaza caters mostly to Filipino-Americans. Look for Arcade World, right next to Target, inside the run down mall.
