Spraying satin finish paint question
« on: October 10, 2006, 04:02:13 pm »
after 4 days attempting to paint my cab with a roller I have now given up.
I have tried two different paints, 3 different rollers and the end result looks like a blindman has painted it.
Mass respect to those who have managed to do this, I have tried and failed miserably, you are all better men than me  :applaud:

On to my question, I tried a little test spraying inside cab with a satin pink that I had intended to use on smaller items and it looks so nice I'm going to do all the inside, the door and the top panels in it.
I'll be using Cellulose paint as I dont have the equipment to paint in 2 pack, well I will be after I buy a compressor and a spray gun  >:D

Now the satin finish looks nice in some areas where its small but a little blotchy over bigger areas where I have tested.
With cellulose gloss it's great for a amateur like me as it can be wet sanded with 1200 paper and then cut back with compound to give a nice finish.
Can the same be done with the satin finish or is it a case of what you spray is what you are left with?

It doesn't matter if its Gloss, Satin, or mat,  they can all be sanded back and cut back the same way.  Satin and Mat are easier to work with as they need less cutting for a good result.
