Free Cabinets in LA/Orange County
« on: March 23, 2003, 07:17:49 pm »
Hi Folks,

I have two cabinets to give away. Help save these from the dumpster.

I have a Cabal cabinet with a fair 19" monitor horizontally
oriented monitor(electrohome). The monitor could use a cap kit.  It works
fine and has decent brightness and color balance, but the horizontal width
won't adjust all the way out.  This cabinet was JAMMA.  I am keeping the
control panel, but if you are making a mame cab, you will probably want to
build your own control panel.  (The original CP had a pair of trackballs and
1 button.)

I also have a Kicker Cabinet that has a good vertically oriented wells gardner monitor in it.
There is a little bit of burn in the monitor, but you can't really notice it
when powered up.  This cabinet was Konami Standard and I hacked the wiring
when I converted it to a MAME cab.  This is the first cabinet I worked on
back in 1998.  I had a lot of fun building it, but had since moved to using a converted arkanoid cocktail cabinet that I can have inside as furniture.

You are welcome to either or both for free.  Let me know if you are interested.
I can even help with delivery if it is within reason.  I am having a daughter in July
and I am trying to clean out the garage and reduce my number of hobbies before she arrives!

I will throw in the keyboard encoder(i-pac) that I bought from Andy that is already mounted in the Kicker cabinet for $20 if you take both cabinets.  Why do you want both?  Play your vertical games on a vertical cabinet and your horizontal games on a horizontal cabinet.

I am in Pomona, where the 10, 57 and 60 freeways all come together.

Send me an email at mmason@allvantage.com
