Just wondering if I should just run a trackball and spinner using oscars usb hookups or would i be better off getting an optipac?

Depends if you want to physically 'switch' between trackball/spinner or have the auto-switching facility of the opti-pac I suppose.  But you could use 2 USB boards and not use a switch...

The optipac also supports 2 trackballs and 4 spinners should you feel the need to add more controls in the future. I personally like the auto-switching feature...
