X-arcade and keyboard masking.
« on: October 05, 2006, 08:52:42 pm »
Ok, so now i have pinned down my problem to what is refered to as keyboard masking.

If I press a series of buttons at the same time then release these keys one key typically stays pressed. As soon as I press that key again it releases.

Is this a typical problem with X-arcade controllers? From what I read this is only a problem for keyboard hacks, not encoders.

no this is not a typical problem, it is probably a dodgy encoder.

I tested this with my x-arcade kit when I first bought one (a long time ago) and I could push 12+ buttons and not have any problems.

Send it back

Is this the new USB one or the old one?

i have an older x-arcade and I have not had any issues like this with mine.  I did have a problem with the cheap usb adaptor they sold me to use with it, but when connected to ps2, it is fine.

mine didnt get stuck, but if i held a button or direction for a few seconds, it would stop working until i released it and pressed it again.  but like i said, that was only with their crappy usb adaptor.

i have had mixed reactions to x-arcade tech support.  i've contacted them for two different concerns.  one time they helped me out right away, the next time i never even got a reply.
