Problem w/ Happ Competition Joysticks
« on: October 05, 2006, 05:37:28 pm »
So I got 2 Happ Competition Joysticks and off course I was all excited since I had crap no name brand joysticks before...once I hooked them up they were stinking for games like Magical Drop or anything that you have to move the joystick quick for.  Basically when I would hit them one way they would bounce back the other way.

I was thinking to fix this problem get some hard springs to replace the medium springs.  Does this sound like it would fix the problem??  Any one else have this problem with these joysticks?

I wouldn't use the Competition as a general purpose joystick. The throw is too long for many games and they're biased towards the diagonals which makes them hopeless for 4-way games.

I once played Pacman a machine fitted with a Competition and it was a painful experience.

For games like Magical Drop higher rank for me have UltraStik. Really excellent for this type of games. Change your joystiks to UltraStik :D

Thanks for the input guys...the UltraStik looks awesome!  Would anybody happen to know a distributor of Ultimarc equip so I could get them for cheaper than listed on the website??
