Happ Super and Happ Competition question
« on: September 30, 2006, 07:41:54 am »

Hi!

I just wanted to ask which of the two joysticks has the shortest
throw??

And, if I should use a stick for games like DonPachi, Twin Cobra, Tiger
Heli etc. should I take a super or a comp?

(I should note that I like the Super's design better...visually)

Thanks,

Nicholas

They are pretty close to the same.  Both are great sticks

If you want a stick with a really short throw you can get a magstick or ultimarc.

do not buy to shmup's these joysticks, they are not suitable to these games.
Use electronic joystick optical (P360), Inductive (Suzo), Ultimarc Ultrastick360 (you have to buy restrictors).
if you want mechanical sticks use Mag-stick, simitsu LS-40 or Sanwa JLW (but only Japanese versions)
according to me suzo inductive is the best.

As kowal say. For airhooters (vertical and horizontal) don't use joystick with microswitches. Best are P360 (but must be moded), and in next days I will test UltraStik360 but default spring must be changed to a bit harder spring. And joystick restrictor must be circle (for smooth moves).
With joysticks without microswitches you can do very smooth and precisely moves in shmups games.

I've never had any real issue playing schumps on my Competitions, but I suppose I might be less picky than some?
$6.75 the hard way-one quarter at a time.

Yes, you never had, me too, until I tried P360 with moded actuator. Believe me, it's super-excellent.
Try to use moded P360 and you change your words in one second ;)
