Check out this Juke

Came across this while looking for ideas for a wall mounted jukebox.  Have not seen to many other than mamerooms design.  What do you guys think?  It looks like corian, but how did they get it molded?  It looks like it would be cool to do.  I just have no idea about how to mold something like that.  Ideas?

Try fiberglass or Bondo like this guy did.

Make a plywood frame and then just sculpt the rest from bondo.

Looks like it might have been vacuum formed (if it isn't a one-off).  Could also be made by spraying fiberglass into a reverse mold (like a boat hull.)

But yeah, if you want to make one yourself, you'll need wood, chicken-wire. fiberglass cloth, liquid resin and or Bondo,  and a lot of sandpaper.

You could also do epoxy glass like the rc boats and still use cloth. If your going to go through all that trouble just make it out of 3/4" wood for the frame and use thin modelers plywood and bend it over the frame and layer it for the thickness you want.

Thanks for the info guys.

I have never messed with Bondo.  Is it worth doing or more trouble than it worth?  I remember seeing a guy using bondo to make a showcase cab here a couple years ago.  It looked cool, but I believe he even said that it was a pain in the arse.  Does bondo crack easliy?

The edges are finished very well but it still could just be laminated quarter inch plywood/luan/fiberboard.

I would suggest making your 'box' and upholstering it with vinyl.  It hides flaws a lot better.

Bondo is easy. Try to make the body of the piece you are doing as solid as possible. 

It's not acceptable for transfering a form.  You could get some plexiglass and then cut it and glue it together then bondo over it to fill in the cracks.

Bondo is just like spackling compound for metal and wood.
