Is there a 'smart strip' power lead for UK users?
« on: September 21, 2006, 05:12:14 pm »
I've seen in various places the 'Smart Strip' power lead that sequentially gives power to all peripherals once the main item is powered on. This is an excellent solution for me as I use a TV as opposed to a monitor, so does not turn on on it's own. Plus, with flicking the switch on the wall in a nomal plug bank, the surge I'm possibly creating to all the items I have plugged in (PS2, speakers, light, PC, TV) may damage my equipment one day and I am keen to avoid this.

I have seen the Smart Strip used in loads of cabinets, but I have searched everywhere and cannot find a UK version of this plug bank. There are surge-protected plug banks but I want to start the devices in order after the PC is powered on, to avoid short circuits and make for a professional start-up of my cabinet. Does anyone know where I can get a UK version of this, as I am reluctant to build my own in case I cause more damage than good!! :hissy:
