What connector is this? NOT S-Video
« on: September 16, 2006, 09:57:43 am »
On a ATI All-In-Wonder card.  Looks like it wants to accept S-Video but doesn't.  What kind of cable is this?

TIA,
John in NH

Well there seem to be two jacks like it on there, so I'm presuming one is input and one is output.  Since the last user posted an input cable, I just wanna make sure you know to get an output cable and not the input one...

Although it may seem obvious, I will admit that sometimes in the heat of getting things I often overlook the most obvious details...

That is of course if you're planning to use this card for TV-out like I'm presuming... If you want it for s-video input then you're all good!  ;D

Yeah, it's just for the S-out for MAME.

Bummer.
Best Buy - strike one!
Radio Shack - Strike Two!
Fry's  - STRIKE THREE!

Nothing local.  EBay it is, then!  :-\

What's wrong with the site that was posted above?

http://www.svideo.com/aiw.html

They have the input and output cables for $16.95 each.

Just seems easier than eBay...

Nothing is wrong with it but eBay's prices are about half of that. . .

ATI cards are great for TV to PC output. Depending on whether your PC has AGP or only PCI slots:
AGP: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814161150
PCI: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814241001
Both are great cards and cost between $30-$36
