  • Retro-gamers don't just play, they reminisce.
I think it's safe to say that all of us on this board have a measure of interest in the arcade games  ;D.

But lets face it, every once in a while, as your scrolling through your MAME cab's gameslist, you get a bit overwhelmed and don't even know where to begin.

So I was checking out the magazine section of Borders book store one day, and I happened across a magazine called "Retro Gamer", the magazine reminded me how nice it is to take a trip down memory lane every once in a while, and after reading through many of the articles in the mag, I was charged and went to work playing many of the arcade classics they went over. As great as the mag is, it's almost $20 an issue because of the work that goes into it (Beautiful layouts in every issue).

The mag also reminded me theres nothing that breathes new life into old classics like discussing, rating and reviewing them. So I sent out on our very own Game Review Forum to share my excitement for what this forum stands for.

I can only imagine how much greater the Game Review Forum would be if even a 10th of us posted just once in a while about an old arcade classic.

Not trying to rant or scream from a soapbox here, I just believe the more we hear about the "Classics", the newer and fresher they feel.

Thanks for the ear!

  • Who the heck is that?
I think people forget the Game Review forum is there, hiding as a child board under Software.
