Those things for the sides of the marquee
« on: September 09, 2006, 05:00:18 pm »
I need some of those.  They were pretty common on Williams games.  Don't think they have a name.  They're NOT the retainers for the top and bottom - they're for the sides to give the marquee a "clean" look when installed and prevent light bleed.

Anyone have any or, better still, know of anything at the Depot or whatnot that is a good substitute?

TIA,
John in TX

I use the vinyl channels they sell at home depot in the DIY windows and screen doors dept. Comes in white, but easy to paint.

I've been toying with the idea of buying some rubber vacuum lines from an auto parts store and taking an exacto knife to spit it with and then insert it onto the sides.
My old user name was marlborroman13, but I kicked the habit many years ago!

I bet the locking bars that come with report covers would for this.

Here's an example...it's the little blue bar on the left side of the folder - they come in several different colors, just drop by Office Depot/Max or Staples.

I ended up getting 8' of white vinyl screen door channel at the Depot for $2!  All it needs is some black spraypaint.  Also great for the sides of a bezel for a clean look.  Thanx, all!

I'm pretty sure this is what I used, but I found it by itself in some other section of Home Depot & haven't been able to find it since, probably 'cause I keep looking in the wrong place.  :P

Huh.  In mine, it was near all the DIY screen repair stuff.
