Yet more Act-labs gun questions.
« on: March 19, 2003, 01:08:58 am »
So I have been looking through the previous threads but nothing definitive.....

Are there any PC monitor settings that optimize the accuracy of the gun (resolution, etc.)  ??

Has anyone looked inside the unit? I'm wondering how hard it would be to lighten up the trigger.

How the heck do you get T2 started????

THANKS!!!!

I don't know about the other questions since I don't have the new USB gun (though I have heard of some pretty strange accuracy fixes :-\), but the trigger would be an easy fix.. just get another lighter spring (may need 2 if the USB gun is the same as the gameport).

Now the only problem is that you'll probably ruin the plastic grips when you rip them off to get at the screws underneath >:(..

Adjust the monitor so that the lighted area fills the whole screen.  Note that a monitor saves setting for screen size + refresh rate, so you may need to adjust the screen for different games if they run at different refresh rates.  You need to recalibrate the gun, also, if either the refresh or size changes.

Also, some game drivers are not accurate (oneshot, mostly)
