I never said I hated Microsoft or that their products are bad. I just think, after only working a week with the Mac that I think OS X is better (than XP). No I haven't tried Vista. My remarks were more towards XP<>OS X.
The reason why I advise(d) macs to people who are not knowing anything about computers is because I've had 10's of computers here, fixing all the ---Cleveland steamer--- that ended up on those systems.
You are very much generalizing by saying that mac users think in black and white like that. I bet most Mac users work with microsoft products as well, probably at work or in some other way. Windows has improved very much from it's birth and I hope Vista will continue that way. However, I still think Microsoft is always behind others and copying (stealing ?) their ideas. Vista needs to be very good to catch up with OS X.
My initial comments were actually meant more toward lutus since he was the mac fanboy that first crapped in this thread and you were just responding to him, which is what his goal was, to turn this into a microsoft vs mac thread.
Also, I didn't generalize mac users, I specifically said mac fanboys, which is a small subset of mac users. If your a mac fanboy, then odds are you hate microsoft and like to tell anyone talking about windows how great macs are and how much windows sucks. You said you used windows for most of your machines and just recently got a mac and you liked it. Thats fine, good for you, I hope you enjoy it, but that has nothing to do with this thread with the exception that lutus decided to comment on how great OS X is and how bad microsoft is. I was hoping everyone would just ignore his comment, but that didn't happen, and I'm just sick and tired of the fanboys commenting in every windows thread. Its not just this forum, but every forum I read, so it was just a lot of pent up annoyance.
Thats pretty nifty that OS X comes with every language with the install, I'm guessing vista will probably do that too. XP could not do that because it used cds, not dvds, since it came out 5 years ago, before dvds were as mainstream as they are now and it takes several gigs of space to include most languages. I was just pointing out that you do not have to "put up with an English OS" when you use XP.
With the RC1 (german release), I finally got my Soundblaster X-Fi to work. Now I can finally try out some multimedia-stuff, but havn't found the time yet.
Driver support is somehow very poor today, but ok, they still got some time left before release!
Ya, from what I've heard driver support is still one of the biggest issues. Rumors say that they don't have enough time to get all the drivers done by the time they send the final version out to be printed, but they will keep working on them so they will be automatically downloaded after its installed. Hopefully thats not true, but we'll see.
I'll probably wait for RC2, or if thats not made public, the final release before upgrading.
