I just wanted to share some info with others that may help in figuring out how to use mamewah with the ledwiz and also some info on using the escape key on a control panel:

Hey,

Sorry it took so long to reply.  I've been slammed with work since starting my pool business back up.  I'm not used to all this manual labor.  Anyways, here are the answers that I have:

1.  I don't have PM or PM32 working with mamewah.  The latest beta of Johnny5 from our boy HowardC should take care of this issue.  It is supposed to light the necessary buttons.  I know the TigerHeli had a way that I've used in the past to take a static image of J5 for each game that could be used in mamewah.  I don't think this would work with mamewah, but there may be another way.  (I don't think it would work because Tigers' way actually took a pic of the j5 screen shot and that is what mamewah was calling.  Since the ledwiz is a command, I'm not sure how to do it.)

BTW, I don't understand when you say you were cutting and pasting parts of PM32 into mamewah.  The only way I would understand to make something work would be to either have J5 called up with a batch file or have the ledwiz software from Randy called up, but that would just be an attract mode at best.  The only program I know that will do what you are looking for without an external program being called is Mala when the chip is switched out of the ledwiz.  There is a recent thread (by Loadman I think), on the topic.

2)  Concerning the escape.  I use a keywiz for all the admin buttons and the flippers for the Vpinball.  There is a batchfile out there that makes it so you have to hold down the esc button for 2 seconds before it lets you out.  I think that is genious to avoid accidental escapes.  If you search for "Useful batch file programs" maybe?  I know it is in a thread with a similar name.  You can then have Mamewah call on the batchfile when started so that it should stay active until Mamewah is exited.  I currently have a cheat button on the front of my cp to coin up and to esc.  Now, when the esc button is hit without the shift, it is "enter" and the pause button when the shift is hit is the "tab" button so I can change mame inputs on the fly.

Just so you know, you can use the gpwiz49 for escape on both mame and mamewah, but they don't work with other emulators as they are hard wired to esc.  When using mamewah, somewhere in the docs is the code needed, and I believe it is joystick_button# or something similar.  In mame, you can actually just access the menu screen in a game and change it directly by pressing what button you want to use for escape.  Any other questions, just shoot them my way.
