Andy from Ultimarc rocks.
« on: August 25, 2006, 12:19:03 pm »
I was having some issues with my MAME computer and was speaking with Andy via email for troubleshooting help. I got to the point where it could be one of three things causing the problem and Andy offered to swap out my AVGA card for free to help me narrow it down.

I even offered to pay for the shipping, but he took care of it.

Definitely a stand up guy and in this day and age where so many businesses just suck at customer service.

Thanks Andy!

I've just posted on the "randy at ggg appreciation" thread and spotted this post.

I too would like to add that Andy at Ultimarc has a "special" way of running his business. I order loads of stuff from him and when it arrived there was a note saying that there were 2 optipac mounting "thingies" missing. Turned out to be those tube things and a couple of screws missing (I think they stop the motherboard from contacting with metal ?). Anyway the note said they would ship them when they were in stock. I mounted the stuff anyway as there were enough of them to go round. A couple of months later the two bits arrived in the post. Now it didnt really matter but Andy sent them anyway. I think that was pretty cool of him so kudos to the man ! He had the systems in place to remind him to send stuff out that was short - even a couple of screws !

Buks

He helped me out when I had problems with an Opti-PAC, to the point of sending me another one to try. I've ordered from Ultimarc at every opportunity since. Andy is totally dedicated to the hobby.

Been happy with the two IPACS and J-Stick I've ordered from him.  Its pretty incredible how fast the items get to me here in the states considering he is based out of the UK.

Definitely a plus considering most stuff in the US can't even get to me as fast as his shipments. Doesn't make any sense though.

and the only person faster at shipping is bob roberts...   just make sure you send in that payment,  you dont want to be dropped from the crossship list like i have in the past....(thats what i get for giving the kiddies more attenion than my cabs)

since the creation of the avga card i have been ording them when needed. He is always a great guy to deal with and have never had any problems with anything. The only gripe i have with the optipac is it lags when you spin the trackball a little fast. yes ive tried everything else adjusting thing but it seems to get that backroll. eh anyways everything else has worked like a charm. Also andy if your reading i got my last card i was having problems with working. It ended up being the motherboard not the avga. but many kudos for You..
