Juke front end for tvix
« on: August 16, 2006, 09:50:10 pm »
Not sure if you guys are familiar with tvix m3100U http://www.tvix.co.kr/Eng/Products/M3100U.aspx
It is bacically a multimedia player, without having to use a pc.
My question is:
Can one of the exisiting programs on this forum be adapted as the frontend player for this unit? I think it would be fantastic if possible.
Any thoughts/comments?

Sadly not I suspect.

Unless that unit has built in functionality to allow it to be controlled via a USB cable rather than just appear as an external HD to your PC (as is the norm), I reckon not.

These type of units (I have a Modix) are custom boards, usually running a highly stripped version of *nix as an OS that runs from FlashRom - probably around 8 or 16 megabytes max. They are very low powered - all the video/audio is done through a decoder chip (usually a Sigma designs one).

Thanks Silver. I thought that this was the case, but needed some reassurance.
