Cocktail glass restore and rubber questions

Two questions related to restoring my Pleiads Tehkan cocktail (same as Taito):

1) The black paint on the underside of the glass is coming off and the top of the glass is pretty much scratched. Now I was thinking of removing all the paint from the under side, turning it upside down and paint black the former upside. That would both fix the paint and the scratches, I hope......good idea ? Any tips on painting glass, I normaly prefer rolling when painting, not to handy with a brush....

2) I need new rubber ends of the legs, those rectangular things....anyone an idea where to get these ? I bet the size is non-metric. Someone else got some brand new rubbers from an office desk, so these should be available somewhere I guess....

Get a new bit of saftey glass.  You won't regret it

Well that's quite a lot of money. My glass is not broken or anything, so I'd like to keep it, if possible.

And new glass needs to be painted too...

It's easy once you've found out what the industry calls them

What you need are 2 inch x 1 inch (50.80mm x 25.40mm), for steel wall thickness of 14-20 gauge (1-2mm)

I'd be interested in the glass painting tips myself. Haven't painted mine yet.

A quick update. Just roller painted (thanks for the tip) my glass with regular household vinyl matt black emulsion paint and it's just fine. It stuck to the glass with no problems and the finished result is awesome. I needed 3 coats to make it completely opaque but it dries so quickly that's no problem.

Paper masking tape is rubbish for water based paint like this though - use plastic.

its definitely worth having a shot at painting and flipping upside down. the only worry then is that there will still be scratches visible where there is no paint. but for the price of a bit of paint just do it i say!

my glass cost even more than loadmans, but being scratch built i didnt really have a choice
