Pac-Land -- what am I going to do with you?
« on: March 14, 2003, 02:18:39 am »
I'll soon be putting my Pac-Land machine back together (took it apart to do some serious corner repairs ::)) and need to have the art redone.  I want to keep the cabinet in its original state (with the Pac-Land artwork) despite the fact that I'm converting it to JAMMA (and, yes, I do plan to leave the original board in there via a JAMMA convertor), but will need to have all of it reprinted (sideart is trashed, but I can probably get a -- somewhat faded -- scan of one side that I can fix up; CP and front art are trashed, not sure what I can do to get scans/pics of those).

My questions:

1.) Can anyone recommend a printer I can send the art to to have it printed?  I'm scared to use Kinkos because of the horror stories and the fact that they have a "pay for it the way it prints" policy..
2.) Does anyone have a link to scans of this artwork so I don't have to scan and retouch it..?  That's going to prove to be a major pain, esp. for the CP and front art.. as yet, I can't find anyone who has preserved this art or does repros..
3.) While the cabinet is apart, I'll be repainting the parts that were flat black or vinyl covered with black gloss and Polycrylic and the parts that were yellow with yellow gloss and Poly.. does anyone have a colormatched sample for a Pac-Man/Land cabinet or recommendation for a readily available color to match this (So I can walk into, say, Home Depot and just tell them I need a 1/2G of gloss in color #X)?
4.) What is the best way to preserve the art once it is on?  Clear coat spraypaint?  Adhesive backed clear laminate over the top (though I have no idea where I'd get something like this)?

Thanks as always.. and sorry if I'm repeating the question of who to have print art, but I like to hear testimonials. ;D
