more specifically info on the small gear that turns the pot.  Diameter? Tooth count? Any place that might have them available?

I'll try to take a look at this when I get home today.  I just happened to disasemble my spy hunter control panel yesterday, so it should be accessable.

If you could get a picture or two that would be great since I'm thinking I'm really gonna have to hunt for this gear it would be nice to be able to show people what I'm looking for.

Here we go.  This is the best I could do.  Dimensions are on the pictures.  I got to use my new caliper, so that's pretty cool.  ;D

There are 42 teeth.
Total Height: 0.495"
Teeth Height: 0.125"
Diameter: 1.375" (including teeth)
Center Diameter: 0.250"
Center Cylider width: 0.157"
Teeth Height: .075" (best estimate)

I think this should suffice, but if you need anything else let me know.

Izrun,

If you get a chance can you take a couple pics of the backside of the assembled shifter?  mine appears to be missing the spring and the switch, and the manual I found on KLOV.com is a tad unclear as to how those parts work.

Thanks for all your help, boy, restoring this puppy might take longer than I thought.

How's this?  Let me know if you need a different angle.

McMaster Carr has a pretty close, if not next best alternative to the smaller gear diagrammed above.  It has 40 teeth instead of 42, the other dimensions are so close it's scary.  You'd have to drill in the set screw holes which shouldn't be too tough since the gear is molded nylon. At $3.50 a piece you can't go wrong.  I got a couple in the mail today and the teeth mesh beautifully with the larger gear.
