I have a Betson Imperial ps2 mouse. It intermittenly quits working and a few seconds to several seconds later it will start working again. It seems when you spin it really fast will trigger this, but even normal play will cause this.

This is the first time I've had it in the CP. It seemed to be working fine when I was using it out of the CP during the computer setup. Before installing it in the CP, I swapped out the standard white trackball for a translucent blue one. I also installed the trackball without a mounting plate. I took care to make sure I didn't puncture any wires or anything. Here is a pic of my installation.

Any ideas?

Another hint... maybe.

While in the FE, sometimes, for no reason a menu opens up. It's a menu I would expect to see if clicked the right mouse button. Not sure if that means I have a short somewhere or what.

Chalk it up to a poor connection inside the trackball housing. Fixed it - all good!
