Slik Quad Button Lay out
« on: August 02, 2006, 03:43:43 pm »
I have a question about some of the buttons in the QUAD .

http://www.slikstik.com/quadfeatures.htm

I counted a total of 47 push buttons

28 which belong to the four joysticks
4 for coins
4 for start
4 for pause

I can't tell what the other 7 are for
4 of the seven or next to the spinner (black buttons)
1 is above the spinner (orange)
2 on the top row I don't know which ones they are.

Also what is the center Joystick at the top for.

I appreciate any insights anyone can provide.

The center joystick is a 4-way stick.

As for all the buttons there are many repeats.  The orange buttons are to be used with the 4-way or for (I think) asteroids.

The ones next to the spinner are your 2 mouse buttons and duplicate.

Also I'm sure there is a power and escape in there.

Can someone confirm that the quad controller comes with an escape and power button. If so can the power button power the monitor pc lights? Thanks.

It uses an ipac, so all the buttons are easily programable IF it doesn't have one.  (and it probably does)  Also the ipac uses the player 2 button as a shift key and one of the other buttons becomes esc.  So your're safe on the escape for sure.

As for power.  I seriously doubt it.  The power button is on you're computer so you would have to wire that yourself.  But thre is no reason you couldn't use on of those buttons for it and just use shift for the function you lose.
