MameWah 1.62b10 Error on load up??
« on: July 30, 2006, 09:20:49 am »
Have just installed the latest beta of Mamewah, and get this message on startup of mamewah,  'An internal error has accured - see c:\mamewah\mamewah.log' then the program closes. When i look at the log there a error message repeated a few times:

Video_Stop
30/7/06 13:20 PM Error: 9 Subscript out of range in Movie_Stop

What is cauing this error

I have just fixed this in my wip version :)

However, the reason for this error to occur (as far as I can tell anyway) is bad configuration...namely if Mamewah cannot find any 'emulators' set up.  You need to create subfolders within \mamewah\config for each platform, and have the associated ini files within...eg:

\mamewah\config\mame\mame.ini
\mamewah\config\mame\mame-0.ini
\mamewah\config\mame\mame-1.ini

etc.

Don't put Mame's mame.ini in there....because that is for Mame, not Mamewah.  As long as you create the \config\mame folder, Mamewah will auto-generate the ini file for you.

The config\mame folder is already there when i install mamewah? Even when i start up mamewah for the very first time after install i get the error message

i havent really found this anywhere else - had the problem myself and started looking around to find nothing

-open mamewah.ini
change
current_emulator
to
current_emulator                          mame

after that, i cant seem to generate a rom list...

sorry for bumping and old one...

try upzipping the file with either Winzip or XP's built in zip interface. I had the same error, but I used WinRar to unzip the file. After I used XP, it worked fine.

I would definately recommend using WinZip to unzip my downloads...several people have had problems when using WinRAR.

I can only suggest try v1.62b11 when it arrives....I keep saying this but it should be very soon now...
