Nintendo Sheriff and Bandido - Spinner Help Needed
« on: August 23, 2006, 03:30:43 pm »
How do I enable spinner for these games? Spinner works fine otherwise under windows and for other games. Tried going thru the TAB menu in each game with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can't, since Nintendo Sheriff and Bandido don't not use a spinner.

The aiming is done with a dial that is selecting one of eight directions. These are hard contacts, exactly like you would be pointing a joystick to one of the eight directions. So, better use your player 2 joystick for aiming.

This has been discussed intensively here:

Look for posting #24 for the details of the schematic proving this.

this is what I am currently doing. If I have 8-way joy could I aim at 45 degree increments? This is the only thing that bothers me. Looking under TAB it only has four input position for gun aiming, not eight. Thanks for the link, I'll take a look

I checked on my PC in Mame32 (not on my cab), and I think as long as you assign to correct buttons to the right directions, than a combination of those buttons (=aiming diagonaly) should work. I actualy succeeded in aiming and firing by pressing both directions at one time on my PC keyboard, so this should work I think.

Looking under TAB it only has four input position for gun aiming, not eight.

This is exactly the same as only having 4 inputs for your 8-way joystick.

45 degree angle does work by activating two switches at the same time. many thanks for helping out
