Female Quick Disconnects
« on: July 24, 2006, 03:47:55 am »
I've been looking for a source for female quick disconnects for a while now (.187, 22-18 AWG), and have been unable to find anything.

I was just wondering, from those more experienced than me in the cabinet making world, are female quick disconnects absolutely needed when wiring switches, or is soldering a viable option?

Also, if anyone has any suggestions as to where a good place to purchase those disconnects are, I'd really appreciate it. So far, the cheapest I've found is $18.50 USD (After shipping to Manitoba, Canada) for 125 of them (I need at least 106). I hear Peale used to sell them cheap, but looks like he's been out of stock for a while.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. :)

I know for a fact that Divemaster on the boards here sells them, as I've bought some from him, but I doubt you'll get them a whole lot cheaper than the $18.50 you found with him having to ship them to Canada.
$6.75 the hard way-one quarter at a time.

If you are happy with your layout and dont plan on changining it much, solder works nicely. That's what I'm doing. It helps though that I have a really good soldering station and would much rather solder all the collections then create all the damn crimps.
