What's this Happ joystick like?
« on: April 01, 2002, 02:53:53 am »

50-9970-00
H.D. Joystick, Trigger only

50-9980-00
H.D. Joystick, w/1 Fire Button

Heavy Duty 8-Way
Trigger Joystick

It looks like the Tron stick but I'm wondering about the tightness/feel of it. Anyone have one of these? Thanks for any info!

I have a used one and it feels just like the tron sticks.  But I'm not running them next to each other (so in my mind, they are 100% the same).

Thanks lilwolf! Does it take up much more space (internally and externally) than a HAPPS super? I know the trigger must add an extra switch right? Was going to replace one of normal HAPPS sticks with one of these. Thanks!

its a lot taller and maybe twice the size below.  I can't remember if it uses the same screw holes.  the contol panel thats in doesn't have any joysticks in it.

btw, it sucks for most things.  I would ONLY use it for some games.  I use it like this

joystick - trackball - buttons

so I can use the joystick with my left hand and the trackball for games that need a joystick, trackball, and a trigger button.

or I use my trackball and buttons for most other games.

ie, its good for ikari warriors type games and tron and zaxxon style games)

Yeah I only wanted one to use for Tron, Forgotten Worlds, Discs of Tron, and Ikari Warriors.

I wonder if the slikstik guys could replace the 4-way stick with one of these babies?? May not be enough room. Does the trigger on this thing need a standard button switch underneath or is it something different?

Good question! And with the Oscar plates now available, the dedicated 4-way stick may not be needed on the slikstik. But a stick with a button is necessary for many games (some you mentioned).

Yes  ;D we can in fact change the 4-way in the middle of the SlikStik to accommodate the Happ Heavy Duty Trigger Stick.

If you would like more info, or want to discuss this further, feel free to contact us at: info@slikstik.com

Happy Gaming...
