Source found for LED Cone Buttons and Cones

Maybe I'm behind the times but I came across this yesterday.... been looking for these.

http://www.ram-controls.com/order-cones.html

Scroll to the bottom of the page.  I just ordered 3 low cone non-LED and 2 high-cone LED buttons.  (Missile command CP).  Will write a review when I get them if you want.  If this source is old news I apologize but searching this forum I had not seen it yet.

That is sweet. Nice find.  Which ones are closest to the cone buttons that are used in Missle Command?  The tall or short ones?

Just when I thought the cone wars had settled down ...  ;D

Tks for the posting -- I wasn't aware that RAM was selling direct now.

Cheers.

Katana Man...

The 3 NON-LED short black cones are the buttons for the three bases in the missile command game.  The 2 LED tall black cones are for 1 and 2 player start buttons.  These LED start buttons were in many other Atari cabs including centipede and many other games.

I don't like their contact page. No phone numbers. Says they are located in California. But the domain was created a month ago, and is registered to someone in Virginia.

??
NO MORE!!

The domain looks to have been registered via Network Solutions, who are located in Herndon, VA... so that really doesn't seem too suspicious.

And fwiw, a lot of businesses online hide their phone numbers, even Amazon, which is why there's a site called: http://www.hardtofind800numbers.com/

Not that I'm vouching for them (I have never done business with RAM-controls), just stating the facts, sir. ;)

The $15 flat shipping is a little hard to swallow for the light weight of those cones and buttons.

Well, I didn't want to wait around to try to find one of these off an ebay CP or what not.  I will let you know what I think of the company, quality, etc. when I receive my order.  In other words I guess I will be the test mouse.  (At least I will finally be contributing to the forum rather than just being a fly on the wall!)

RAM makes the cones that Art Mallet (ebay artfromny) sells on http://artsarcadegames.com

Art was one of the vendors involved in the cone wars, and I purchased a bunch of cones when they were going cheap.  So, I already have some of the RAM cones here.  They aren't vaporware, and they're very nice- perfect, really.  You'll like 'em, I'm sure.

David Adams is the owner of RAM controls.  I purchased cones, trackballs, and a MH controller from him.  No problems and fast shippping.  The products are very nice.

I believe that David has been around for a number of years on the operator side of the arcade business.  I've not seen any reports of people having problems buying things from him.

I received an email saying that the cones shipped yesterday afternoon after I ordered yesterday morning.  They are shipping 2nd day or whatnot.  So should get them Tuesday.  Will let everyone know.

UPDATE: Received LED Cone Buttons and Cones
« Reply #12 on: July 26, 2006, 08:13:41 am »
Received the buttons last evening!  The short cones, tall cones, and button assemblies all were placed in seperate bags and these bags were wrapped in LOTS of butcher paper.  After opening them, of course I had to screw the cones on to see how they looked.  I showed them to my father, the missile command afficianado, and he couldn't believe the cones were not originals.  In short, the cones are great, I don't regret the amount it costs now that I have received a great product and fast service.  Cheers.
