i have a bootleg ms pacman jamma board. I just got a speed up chip from Mikes arcade. The instructions say to remove the board.

can I just install the chip or does the board have to be disconnected?

I just want to make sure I dont mess up my board, etc.

Thanks.

Mikes' sells a speedup chip for a bootleg board ? Is the boot board chip-compatible with the original ?

This is a genuine queston as I am thinking of putting a bootleg in my current Pac project.

Cheers.

its entirely possible that it does not work on a boot board. i took a gamble. i just mentioned that in case there are different chips out there.

You should definitely at least disconnect the board from the power supply.
