What do you think I could sell my cabinet for?
« on: July 09, 2006, 01:55:02 pm »
I'm trying to determine the value of my cabinet. I realize getting opinions on BYOAC from a bunch of thrifty guys like us may not be the best idea. I built this cab a few months back and it just doesn't get much play. I'm thinking of selling it and getting something different.

It has:
Atari 360 wheel
Up/Down Return to center shifter with turbo button
Ipac2
Gas/Brake switch pedals
2.4ghz P4 (dell pc under warranty still)
512 Memory
21" monitor

It plays about 30 driving games well and about 15 other games decent (tempest, cameltry, etc.)

Give me 2 estimates - what you would pay and what the general public might play. If it isn't worth much - I'll just keep it.

I might like to pay $500 for it.

I might sell it to a non-mame familiar person for $1500

That thing looks sweet btw

i think people are leaving quotes for the empty cab and controls and not counting the pc and 21 inch monitor.

private local listings for things like this are the best. alot of non tech people think its the most amazing thing ever.

you should keep it and just build another mame cab or a coctail though.

Thanks for the input. This is my 3rd cabinet, and I am sort of thinking of freeing up the space for another one.

I wanted to get a feel for what I can charge. I've been guilty of both overcharging and not charging enough for my stuff. If I can get a few more opinions I'll throw it on craigslist or something.

Keep it .....and just go onto your next cab.

Having 1 cab is fun....having 2 is a lot more fun!
Seriously. Will it fit in my basement or what?

I'm in St. Louis, Missouri. I'm interested in what you think it's worth.

This is my 3rd cabinet, and if I want another one - I'll need to get rid of one. Keeping it is indeed an option.

Thanks for the input guys.

I'll buy the shifter off it if you decide to part it out :)

Ha! thanks, but no thanks.

I tell you what though - I like this shifter. It's less authentic but more versatile for Mame. I bought it off ebay for around $40 after shipping.

nice looking cabinet... it's got a great look about it... I-d say $500-$750....

If I were you I'd keep it and get rid of the couch.........

This is extremely sound advice. I endorse it wholeheartedly. ;D

Nahh - keep the couch. Lose the closet. Just knock down a couple of walls...
