Older Act Lab guns info needed
« on: July 07, 2006, 05:13:45 pm »
Hey all. This is my first post, so if this is covered somewhere else, kindly let me know.

I have the opportunity to purchase the older Act Labs gun set from a local second hand shop here in Phoenix. Act Labs doesn't seem to have any info on the gun set so I'm sort of at a loss as to how they work and what they would be usable for.

The set I'm referring to is a pair of 'space style' silver guns joined by some large-ish (not usb) plugs that plug into a rubber/plastic center holder. The holder has another connection with a SVGA In and a SVGA Out that looks like it would go between a PC and the monitor. There is a third connector (25 pin I think) that I have no idea where it would go.

I currently use a TV for my cabinet instead of an SVGA monitor. So I guess my question is: Is there a SVGA to S-Video adatpr out there that would let these work on my cabinet? Are they worth the $35 I would spend?

Thanks for any info.

Chris

Those are the old Dual Gun System guns.  They're useless.  They try to appear as joysticks to the system, and are really only useful with software specifically written for them.
