unable to get ipac to recognize right direction on p2 side

I am unable to get the player 2 right direction to work on my ipac. I have tried everything from running 2 dedicated wires straight from the controller to hooking up a simple button on the 2 player right direction and it still does not recognize any kind of input.
Also If I fire up the winipac program i can short each terminal to ground and see a simulated button push in the program for every one except from the player 2 right side.
Is my ipac somehow damaged? That is very weird for just 1 input to not work. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you contacted Andy at Ultimarc? That would be my first step.
Also, check the solder side of the board, make sure there is nothing odd around the pin for the 2p right.

Try new wires and just use a pushbutton to see if the direction works. Make sure you have a failure by hooking up the pushbutton to another input and seeing if the connect works. Use the winpac software for testing and hope that you are using XP.

yes i am using xp. I have tried hooking just a plain button still no go. I also checked behind the board just in case. I have those plastic feet on it so should be good.
I played around with the software for it and everything is recognized except for that 1 input. I also set it to default and hit reprogram. This made the p2 right direction stay lit in the program and cause a repeat keypress over and over. even if nothing is connected to it. This only happens when you try and reprogram it. Its like it wont take that 1 key so it keeps sending it over and over again.
Maybe if something was actually connected to that input on reprogram I could say well maybe the wires are backwards or are connected to the nomally open side. But its happening even with nothing connected to that input as well as no keyboard connected.
i sent a message to andy but im sure he is busy as heck with the holidays and stuff so.
