I am finally starting my first MAME cabinet project. I have ordered a router, router table and accessories. I am going to use 3/4" MDF and laminate it with 1/16" formica (I'm not sure where from yet). I hope to document my journey along the way so that I might help someone, like these forums have helped me.
Through a series of "go/no go" steps with the wife, I have decided on building a non-standard cabinet, based on the Quasicade CFX, as shown below... You can read about how I arrived at this decision
here.
I am having a hard time designing it though, because I only have one picture to go off of (which led me to the not so nifty project name). I did find a video on Youtube that showed one briefly, but it didn't help much. I have an LCD monitor and an X-Arcade solo mocked up in about the position I think they should go to get a rough idea of the dimensions I would need.
Has anyone seen one of these in person or have any pictures of one? Any design ideas?
I need to be able to take the cabinet apart to get it in the basement, has anyone used the cam style knock down fittings for their cabinet? If so, how did they work?
Thanks,
Dave
