A bit of an alternate fluorescent lighting solution
« on: June 25, 2006, 09:49:24 pm »
hey fellas, I was out looking for alternate lighting setup for my new project as I had an under the counter light from wally world (just about like everyone here hehe) and mine unfortunately gave me some interference in the monitor in the upper right corner. My belief is it was the transformer and NOT the ballast, as so many have had problems with. So the search began and voila!; lighting found at none other than BigLots!

I had 4 key points that it must meet:
#1 be transformerless(zero interference)
#2 bright enough solution
#3 no issues with the smart strip
#4 size restrictions and alterations

The package I found(pics below) is a linkable light setup. Comes as 3 light fixtures(these are  13"), 3 power cords, 2 linkable cables, mounting hardware. For a mere $14.88 and change I had my solution. Now the true test was to find out if it worked as my points above state. Got it home and test plugged it into powerstrip, bam powers right up without sudden switching out! Will it fit my area, yes! ok, now to see if its bright enough for my needs(only 8w per bulb) so i use 2 for my needs. It works perfect, I think its actually brighter than the combined 16w. Best of all no interference at all. Plus the fact these are linkable may also work for anyone out there that may have unusual size/needs in your marquee box area or any other area for that matter. Just wanted to show this an alternate solution for you folks, check your local BigLots! in the lighting section. Game On.
